A Quick Review of 2012
As you may recall, I always like to do an end of the year review for the congregation. I want to begin by commending everyone for all the work that was done in 2012. The congregation had a successful Vacation Bible School in June. We have helped several needy families in our community. There were many great things that we accomplished this year.
One of the most exciting things to happen this year is that we had thirty Christians place membership with this congregation in 2012 (that figure includes children of the families). Wow! Did you get that? The congregation has grown significantly this year and I hope that we are in store for many more people to join our ranks.
We also had a good year financially despite the current economic situation that our nation has faced. We had over $153,000 given to the Lord’s work. Of that amount we had nearly $8,000 that went to Project Philippines and Eastern European Missions.
All in all, we had a very good year; but as we all know there are many things that need to be done and there is areas which we need improvement as well.
As we close, let’s consider the words of the apostle Paul:
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you (Phil. 3:14-15).
Let’s all press toward the mark in 2013!
